Our Church 1909 - Present
The first meeting of First Baptist Church was held on March 28, 1909 in a frame building on Broadway Street. The building was shared with the Methodists, who used the building every other Sunday. During the week, it served as a school.
Since that time, the church has built on three sites. The first, in 1915, was located at North 3rd Street. In 1960, a brick building was constructed near the same location, in addition to a nearby parsonage. Today, the congregation meets at 904 Highway 70 West in a building erected in 2000.
Glenwood First Baptist Church is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention and is an active member of Caddo River Baptist Association.
